Dredging at Haslar Marina
First phase of dredging starts at Haslar Marina
The first phase of a major programme of dredging started in Haslar Marina in early September. The central G-H and F-G channels and all associated berths will be dredged to 2.5-3m below chart datum, providing secure deep-water berths for larger yachts.
Jenkins Marine will be on site until mid-October with a back hoe platform and split hopper barges. All dredge waste will be dumped at the Nab dump ground. Jenkins Marine have a long history with Dean & Reddyhoff, having recently successfully completed a three year dredge of East Cowes Marina.
The marina will be operating as normal during the dredging, but boat owners should proceed with care as pontoons will be moved and some areas temporaily off limits. Visitors are welcome and should call ahead to confirm berth allocations. Sealift2 will be providing lift, scrub and antifoul services as usual.
Further phases of dredging are planned for 2017.
