Cowes to Portland race - Saturday 21 July

The first ever JOG Cowes to Portland race will set off from Cowes and race to Portland Marina. Dean & Reddyhoff are delighted to sponsor this race, and will be offering all participants free berthing in Portland for 21 July, plus a very warm welcome.

The 48 mile race will start from Cowes from 0700, and finish near Portland breakwater.

JOG stands for Junior Offshore Group, and was formed in the 1950s to encourage smaller boats to race offershore. JOG organise a full programme of cross Channel and coastal races. Membership is very modest, and members and non-members may enter the races. Contact JOG secretary@jog.org.uk for details

At the same time, the Royal Dart YC is organising a race to Portland as a feeder event for JOG Week, and all RDYC participants will also be welcome to a free overnight berth.

JOG Week - 22 to 27 July

The Cowes to Portland race is a feeder for JOG Week, which is a series of races starting on Sunday 22 July when the fleet leaves Portland for Dartmouth. The week includes passage and inshore races down the coast to Plymouth.

Anyone is welcome to enter all or part of the week. Contact JOG for details secretary@jog.org.uk
