Warsash, Swanwick & Bursledon Regatta
Celebrate the end of summer in true River Hamble style
Water carnival, fireworks and sailing events
Warsash, Swanwick and Bursledon Regatta is a true British celebration of the end of summer - an eclectic mix of dinghy and yacht racing, gig rowing, parties, fancy dress boats and fireworks.
This year the theme is 'Down Under', celebrating the 250th anniversary of Captain James Cook's voyages to Terra Australis Incognita, the unknown southern land.
The Deacons team has plans to turn the workboat into an Australian icon - you'll have to wait and see which one!
Saturday morning (and Sunday) is mainly dedicated to the sailing events - click here if you'd like to take part - then the serious business begins!
- 12.30pm - BBQ, raffle, novelty games and more at the Elephant Boatyard
- 2pm - fancy dress parades
- 3.30pm - water carnival
- 6pm - prize giving
- 8.45pm - grand finale and torchlight parade
- 9pm - fireworks display
Fancy dress is strongly encouraged, and whatever the weather, the regatta is great fun.
