Enter Cowes by the main channel unless you know there is suitable depth in the eastern small craft channel (this is due to be dredged in winter 2016-17). Listen to VHF Ch 69 'Cowes Harbour Radio' for warnings of shipping movements.
Follow the harbour past the Cowes marinas into the river Medina and past the chain ferry (floating bridge). The chain ferry has right of way over all craft.
East Cowes Marina is 500m south of the chain ferry on the eastern bank of the river. It is clearly marked with a large green and white sign on A1 pontoon.
Call the marina on VHF Ch 80 for a berth allocation. Outside of office hours you are welcome to take any suitable berth on A or B pontoons (the most northerly) and check-in with the marina office in the morning.

Approaching from Whippingham: follow York Avenue past the entrance to Osborne House. Take the first left onto Victoria Grove and follow it to the bottom of the hill. At the sharp right bend, turn left down Minerva Road, which turns into Clarence Road. Past the RNLI, turn left into Britannia Way housing estate and follow the road to the end.
Approaching from Cowes and Red Funnel: take the one-way loop round Well Road past Waitrose. At the first junction, turn right down York Avenue, then second left into Clarence Road. Take the first right past the shipyards into Britannia Way housing estate and follow the road to the end.
The closest car ferry is Red Funnel which goes to Southampton. The terminal is only five minutes from the marina. The fast Red Jet passenger service connects Cowes and Southampton. You can take a water taxi from Town Quay next to the Red Jet terminal in Cowes, or walk about 30 minutes to the marina, crossing the Medina by the chain ferry.
Ferries to Portsmouth go to Ryde, which is about 20 to 30 minutes by car or bus from East Cowes. Wightlink operate a car ferry to Fishbourne and the FastCat from Ryde pier. Hovertravel operate a hovercraft service from Ryde to Southsea.
