How to Find Us
Located on the sheltered west bank of the Hamble at Bursledon Bridge, close to the M27 and train.
Enter the Hamble river, keeping a listening watch on VHF Ch 68 'Hamble Harbour Radio'. The speed limit is 6 knots.
The Hamble can be very busy with a wide variety of craft, so please keep a good watch. Beware boats exiting the marinas across the channel. You can sail in the river, but your engine must be instantly available and sails ready to be lowered should the fairway become busy.
Beware tidal currents in the river, which can run at 3 knots. Take extra care when crossing the current or leaving and departing your berth. If possible depart and arrive at slack water. Our map gives some useful tips for approaches during flood and ebb tides.
Tide times. Note that Bursledon has a double high tide, with a second high approximately 2 hours after the first. The second high is slightly lower.
