Inaugural Haslar Marina Award for outstanding achievement

We are thrilled to continue to support the great efforts of the Portsmouth Sail Training Trust (PSTT) who can be seen with their fleet of red-sailed squibs at the foot of H pontoon.  PSTT do some fabulous work raising the aspirations of young people from some of the most disadvantaged local areas.  They use regular participation in sailing to learn marine skills to help engagement, motivation and enable youngsters to develop their potential both on and off the water.

Haslar Marina presented its inaugural 'Haslar Marina Award' in July for the year’s ‘Standout Achiever’.  This took place on HMS Bristol on Friday 13th July and was awarded to Matthew Brittan from St. Edmunds School for exceeding expectations in all areas throughout the year.  He really showed a huge desire to apply himself to the learning process, and the results of which were evident from the increased performance on the water.  The wonderful staff at PSTT said that Matthew had been a pleasure to deal with, with an unwavering enthusiasm and appetite to better himself, both individually and in sailing.
