MP visits Haslar Marina
MP Caroline Dinenage visits Haslar Marina
As part of English Tourism Week, Haslar Marina played host to Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage and the CEO of British Marine, Lesley Robinson.
The visit was an excellent opportunity to showcase the marina, especially the fantastic refurbishment of Trinity's at the Lightship as well as talking about the changing needs of boat owners and marine tourism.
Our MD, Michael Prideaux, explained that the Lightship is central to attracting more visitors, by creating a new Solent destination. Not only has the restaurant and bar been refurbished to a very high standard, but Maria and her team have refocused the menu on seafood and relaxed elegant dining, perfect for a lunchtime boat trip.
Following her visit, Caroline Dinenage MP said “I really enjoyed my visit to the Haslar Marina and tasting the new menu at Trinity’s at the Lightship. It was fantastic to learn more about what the Marina has to offer, not only to locals but also to tourists. Coastal boating related tourism contributes more than £348.8m in GVA to the UK economy and here in Gosport attracts over 10,000 visiting boats each year, helping to boost the local economy and jobs!”
Caroline is a great advocate for Gosport businesses and a friend to Haslar Marina. Not only has she taken time out of her schedule to visit us at the Southampton Boat Show, she kindly opened the G block washrooms a couple of years ago too!
