Fire drill takes place on Lightship
February 08, 2012 at 4:13 PM
If you were passing the north gate of the marina today you will have had quite a surprise as, not only were there two fire engines and two quick response fire vehicles, the fire brigade had put a smoke bomb in the Lightship's boiler room.
All in all, it was a very successful drill. All of the staff jumped (safely and calmly of course) into action as we went through our well rehearsed fire plan. On this occasion we were joined by a number of spectators from our other marinas. After a debrief with the fire brigade, all of the staff returned to the warmth of the office for a team chat on what lessons were learnt.
At Haslar (and Dean & Reddyhoff as whole) we have realised that there is no room for complacency when it comes to Health & Safety. It is an organic/ ever changing approach that should constantly be challenged. We have certainly lived up to this philosophy today and will continue to strive towards making our environment ever safer for our customers!
