Brian Thompson attempts yet another record!

November 23, 2011 at 1:24 PM

Haslar sailor Brian Thompson is just a few days into an attempt to beat the Round the World crewed record and claim the Jules Verne Trophy.  Onboard the largest and fastest catamaran, Brian and the crew need to average over 25 knots to beat the record.  So far, after only a few days, they are nearly 200 miles ahead of where Groupama (the record holder) had got to at this stage.

Brian always writes very colouful and indepth blogs and it is well worth following him through his website www.brianthompsonsailing.com .  We will try to retweet a lot of his updates - so do follow us on  http://twitter.com/#!/haslarmarina if you are not doing so already.

If Brian completes a circumnavigation he will have sailed non stop around the world more than any other UK sailor.  He is two more trips away from holding the honour of having sailed non stop around the world more than anybody in history. Wowzers!!
